Thousands of Portuguese and Mexican fans were seen leaving the Kazan-Arena stadium after their first Confederations Cup match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Some of the Portuguese fans shared their thoughts about the deadly forest fires that have engulfed Pedrogao Grande earlier on Sunday. The blaze has so far claimed some 62 lives and left 59 injured. “I am really sorry that these things happened, but maybe it is an alert to the government to take care of the forest and prevent the situation from happening in the future,” stated one Portugal fan.
The FIFA 2017 Confederations Cup kicked off on Saturday with hosts Russia win over New Zealand 2:0. Chile and Cameroon are expected to meet at the pitch at 21:00 (18:00 GMT) in Moscow.
