US Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton hits back at her Republican rival after Donald Trump suggests that gun rights advocates could stop her from appointing Supreme Court justices.
Clinton made the remarks while addressing her supporters in Des Moines, Iowa. She warned Trump that his words will have ‘tremendous consequences” for him. At a rally on Tuesday, the Republican nominee said Clinton wants to abolish the Second Amendment which enshrines the right to bear arms in the US Constitution. He also said Clinton will put the anti-gun justices on the Supreme Court if she wins the presidency in November. Trump’s remarks sparked an online backlash as many interpreted his comments as a call for the assassination of Clinton.
