スペインのバルセロナ中心部で１７日、車が人ごみに突っ込むテロ事件が起きた。これまでに１３人が死亡、５０人以上がケガをしている。
現場はバルセロナ中心部の、観光客にも人気の高いカタルーニャ広場周辺で、１７日夕方、１台の車が群衆に突っ込んだ。
地元メディアが目撃者の話として伝えたところによると、車は６００メートルにわたって人々をなぎ倒しながら蛇行運転して進んだという。
スペインの政府高官によると、これまでに１３人が死亡、５０人以上がケガをしている。車に乗っていた男は逃走した。
その後、２人の武装した男が現場近くのレストランに押し入り、立てこもったという情報があったが、警察は先ほどこれを否定した。
また、事件に関連して男１人を逮捕したとしているが、男の身元などは明らかになっていない。
