Ueno Panda to name the most recently entered new photographs too
上野動物園のジャイアントパンダの赤ちゃんの名前について、応募総数が３２万件を超え、過去最多となった。
上野動物園によると、赤ちゃんパンダの名前を１０日までの２週間募集した結果、インターネットや郵送など合わせて、国内外から３２万２５８１件の応募があったという。
これまで最も多かった応募は、１９８６年に生まれた「トントン」の約２７万件で、今回、３０年ぶりに記録を塗り替えた。
また選考委員には、女優で日本パンダ保護協会の名誉会長を務める黒柳徹子さんら６人が選ばれた。応募が多かった上位１００点の名前から今後、黒柳さんら選考委員が１０点ほどの候補に絞り、中国側との協議などを経て、生後１００日を迎える９月下旬に発表される予定。

The selection committee member was also selected by six actresses including actress Tetsuko Kuroyanagi who is an honorary chairman of the Japan Panda Protection Association. From the names of the top 100 titles that were mostly submitted, Mr. Kuroyanagi’s selection committee will narrow down to about 10 candidates and will be announced at the end of September, which will reach 100 days after birth, after consultation with the Chinese side.
