９日夜、埼玉県熊谷市の空き地で、物置などが燃える不審火が発生し、警察が連続放火事件とみて捜査している。
警察によると、９日午後８時すぎ、熊谷市久保島にある県営団地の近くの空き地で、物置などが燃える不審火があった。駆け付けた消防隊が４５分後に消し止め、けが人はいなかった。
撮影した男性「黒っぽい煙が上がっていて、みんなで階段を下りて見にいった。その時には炎が４～５ｍ上がっていて。火の海ですよね、もう」
この団地では、６月以降、東側の用水路沿い２００メートルほどの間で不審火が相次いでいて、今回で５件目。３日前にも被害があり、現場近くの住民は不審な声を聞いていた。
近くに住む女性「結構笑い声とか聞いてるので、愉快というか面白がってるのかな。４回目（今月６日）と５回目のきょう。あははって感じで笑って、そのままスッといなくなった」
警察は、同一犯による連続放火の可能性が高いとみて捜査している。
