Tourists to Yilan will soon be able to ride a smaller version of the old steam train that used to run on Taipingshan. This and other stories in brief. Sanshing Township’s Forest Train Yilan’s Sanshing Township has unveiled a miniature train that’s an imitation of the old steam train that used to run through the forests of Taipingshan. The mini train, which took its maiden trip at Tiansongpi Station today, is only a third of the size of the original, but it can give rides to tourists, and it even toots and emits steam like a real steam train. Regular operations will begin in March. Healthy Drinks Competition Thirty-six students from all over Taiwan today took part in a competition hosted by Tajen University, to make drinks with ingredients seen as healthy by traditional Chinese medicine. One of the judges, who works in the drinks industry, noted that though the market for streetside beverages in Taiwan is gigantic, finding ways to market these “health drinks” to the key demographic – young people – is a challenge.Kaohsiung’s Kung Fu Exhibition “Very Very Kung Fu,” an exhibition that opened today in Kaohsiung, combines professional expertise from different fields, such as motion sensor technology and movie animation to teach onlookers about what Kung Fu is all about. After Kaohsiung, the exhibition will tour the world so that the international community can learn about the beauty of Kung Fu culture.
