China is continuing to lash out at South Korea for its sovereign decision to deploy the THAAD missile defense system.
The Chinese language version of China’s Global Times newspaper re-posted an op-ed to its website on Saturday that slams Seoul for bringing in the U.S. system.
It was re-posted after its removal from the website following the South Korean government’s official protest against it.
The widely criticized op-ed says THAAD-supporting conservatives in South Korea had become dumb from eating too much kimchi.
It also says South Koreans should go and pray for peace at its numerous churches and temples.
The paper’s move is viewed as ironic since the Chinese government has yet to signal whether it will vote for stronger UN sanctions against North Korea for its recent nuclear test.
