警察によると２３日午前１１時前、中村区賑町にあるマンションの７階で「ベランダで拳銃のようなものを持った男が大声で叫んでいる」と１１０番通報があった。男は６０代くらいの外国人とみられ、「警察官を連れてこい」と叫んでいたという。
ベランダと室内を行ったり来たりする状況が続き、警察が説得に当たっていたが、約３時間後の午後２時すぎ、自ら玄関から出てきたところで身柄を確保された。これまでのところ人質やけが人の情報は入っていない。
現場は、名古屋駅から約１．５キロの住宅街で、近くには病院などもある。現在、警察が男から詳しく話を聞いている。
